About Our Instructors

Our instructors are the heart of our school, dedicated to helping our students achieve their learning goals. All of our teachers follow our educational principles, designed to help students become better learners, to build confidence and
to reach their academic potential.

STUDIO IN ART / DIGITAL ART – Christopher Lauto 

Mr. Christopher Lauto – Graduate of St. Anthony’s High School, St. John’s University, and Queens College. B.F.A. in Illustration and a Minor in film. He has interned and worked with companies including Nickelodeon, Viacom, Showtime, and USA networks. Mr. Lauto had his work featured in galleries such as the Mills Pond Gallery in St. James. He currently teaches freshman Studio Art here at St. Anthony’s High School.

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN & ANALYSIS – Paul Paino

Mr. Paul Paino – A retire science teacher from the public school system, he is back at St. Anthony’s after initially starting his career here.  He has earned his Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, and has a Master’s degree from both Stony Brook and CW Post.  He enjoys “Rocking out” on the weekends with his band, “Tribute”.

BAGPIPES 101 and 102 – Frank Riggio 

Mr. Frank Riggio – Mr. Riggio is in his third year working with the Celtic Friar’s Pipe Band at St. Anthony’s H.S.  He graduated from New York Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Computer Technology, from Marist College with a degree in Public Administration, and the U.S. Army War College with a Masters equivalent in Strategic Analysis.  Mr. Riggio has instructed bagpipes on Long Island for over 30 years and is retired from the Nassau Police department.

FRESHMAN PREP – Christopher Farrell
Mr. Christopher Farrell – Mr. Farrell graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Political Science in 2008 from Loyola College in Maryland. He is a member of Sigma Delta Pi, Pi Sigma Alpha and Alpha Sigma Nu—the Spanish, Political Science and Jesuit Honor Societies, respectively. In his senior year, Mr. Farrell received the “Whose Who Among Students at America’s Universities” Award. Currently, he is working on his Master’s Degree in Adolescence Education at Molloy College. A graduate of St. Anthony’s High School, Mr. Farrell joined the SAHS Faculty in September 2008 in the Department of Foreign Language teaching Spanish. Mr. Farrell has taught Spanish 10, 11 and Spanish 12. This year Mr. Farrell teaches three Spanish 12 classes and is the Faculty Supervisor in Girls and Boys Chorus. Mr. Farrell teaches Summer School Spanish and also the Freshmen Prep-Summer Program. Mr. Farrell is Assistant to the Director of Student Activities and is involved with coordinating many events in Student Activities including Orientation, Ski Trips, the Great Adventure Trip, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Canteen, Soup Kitchen, Junior Ring Day, Junior Banquet, and Graduation – Commencement, among others. He also is Assistant to the Choral Program – providing support to both the Gregorian Schola and the Chorus for their many concerts and activities. Mr. Farrell has traveled each year since 2009 with the Chorus and the Band during their most recent Concert Tours to Sicily, Italy, Spain and China. As Concert Tour Manager, he is currently working on the Choral Tour planned for February 2013 to Southern and Central Italy.
